Our Big Turbo X5
TheBimmerHub is a mobile business, so having a reliable vehicle is essential. While BMW doesn’t make a cargo van (though a B58-powered van would be incredible!), we went with the next best option: a G05 X5 sDrive40i.
Being rear-wheel drive, it offers better handling and fuel efficiency than its xDrive counterpart. This X5 perfectly blends performance, luxury, and practicality—with 72.3 cubic feet of cargo space and the highly tunable B58TU engine, it's the ideal vehicle for transporting our tools and representing the performance side of our business.
We've outfitted our G05 X5 with a hybrid turbo upgrade, high-flow intake system, and a 5-inch downpipe. It's running a custom DME tune by CD919 in NC, paired with an XHP Stage 3 transmission tune. Together, these upgrades have taken the car from its stock 330 bhp to an impressive 650 bhp.
Aside from the powertrain upgrades, the car remains stock—factory exhaust, factory cosmetics. It’s the ultimate sleeper: not the fastest out there, but definitely quicker than most vehicles on the road. We intentionally stayed within this power range to keep the transmission happy and reliable.
That power is sent to massive 315mm Pirelli tires wrapped around 21-inch wheels, helping it put down the power efficiently. This SUV is both fast and reliable, a true testament to the quality of work we provide. It averages over 3,800 miles per month and has proven itself as the perfect platform for our mobile business.
It can carry all of our tools, tow up to 7,200 lbs, and still puts a smile on your face—while delivering 29 MPG on 93 octane and 22 MPG on an E40 ethanol blend.
